Personal Bio: People ask me why I continue to coach, I mean it takes a lot of time and patience, why put up with it? A couple of things keep me in coaching. The first is the feeling you get when you work and work and work with a player on a particular skill and just when you think they may never master the skill you look out on the field and they are doing the skill. Whenever that happens it sends a chill through me and puts a big smile of my face. The second are the friendships that I have developed through the years with my players and parents. Seeing former players go on to be doctors, teachers, and nurses makes me realize that their experience with our great sport goes much further than what happens on the practice field and during a game. I have told my all of my players that I expect great things from them after high school. When I see pictures of former players that wouldn’t even know each other if it hadn’t been for our teams standing with each other at college graduations. Whenever I see those kids now I get a big hug and that is why I keep coaching.
